Bio

An intensely private person, LB Volle (Leslie, b. 1957, Houston, Texas) was raised on Staten Island, earned a BFA at the Kansas City Art Institute in Kansas City, Missouri, and a Master's degree in Linguistics at Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, New York. 

She explores the subtle communication between objects, negative space, and the narrative of dreams. Her work utilizes painting to investigate emotion's social and personal conditions while examining the concepts of age, language, and fragility.  

 The artist has participated in various group exhibitions, with her most recent solo exhibition, Twig Stories, at the Kleinhelter Gallery in Louisville, Kentucky. Volle has work in many collections including the Guanlan Printmaking Museum in Guanlan, China. She currently lives and works with her partner in New York.
